Manchester Airport Transport Connections

Manchester, UK, is easily accessed via the motorway network, using junction 5 of the M56. It is within a short driving distance of Leeds, Huddersfield, Bradford and Liverpool. The train station at the airport offers regular and frequent trains into the city centre and trains also depart for a number of other destinations. Bus links and taxi ranks at the terminals complete the land based transport connections.

Manchester International Airport is at the hub of a network of roads and railways that make it accessible from all directions. Directly south of Manchester City centre, it is situated midway between Altrincham to the west and Handforth to the east.

By Road / Motorway :
The nearest motorway junctions to the site are number 6 and the commonly used one for easy access - number 5 on the M56. The route from the motorway is short and well signposted. The M56 leaves the M60 Manchester Ringroad at junction 3A.

By Bus on the route numbers: 18, 19, 43, 105, 199, 200, 369:

Number 18 from the Trafford Centre through Stretford, Sale, Northern Moor, Newell Green, Portway. Takes between 45 and 60 minutes

Number 19 from Altrincham through Woodheys, Ashton upon Mersey, by Wythenshaw Hospital, Portway. Takes about 30 minutes

Number 43 from Manchester city centre through Rusholme, Fallowfield, Withington, West Didsbury, Northenden, Wythenshawe. Takes between 30 and 45minutes.

Number 105 from Manchester City Centre through Moss Side, by Southern Cemetery, Benchill, Woodhouse Park. Takes between 30 and 45minutes.

Number 199 from Buxton through Chapel en le Frith, Whaley Bridge, Disley, Stockport, along the M60 motorway. Takes between 30 and 45 minutes

Number 200 from Wilmslow through Styal, Moss Nook. Takes about 10 minutes

Number 369 from Stockport through Edgeley, Adswood, Cheadle Hulme, Heald Green, Shadow Moss Road. Takes between 20 and 30 minutes
